Elanora State School is always one of DJ Emily’s favourite schools to disco at, the kids are always roaring to go, their smiles encouraging, and dance moves unstoppable! Even with the early start, DJ Emily’s energy was immeasurable and ready to keep up with all the grades.

First up were the 1’s and 2’s, who came in with their guns blazing and ready to absolutely dominate their disco. They kicked it off warming up to Shake It Off and followed it up with a heartfelt sing-a-long to Firework by Katy Perry. They danced the morning away to the hits, and danced along to tracks such as 5, 6, 7, 8 and Gangnam Style, as well as played brilliantly at Limbo and Musical Statues. They made sure to push DJ Emily to her DJ limits, something she dreams of at every disco. She hoped the 5’s and 6’s could keep the torch going!

The older kids definitely did follow the younger kids swimmingly, being keener and more interactive than ever before. They jammed hard to all their favourite songs, singing loudly for DJ Emily and then busted their moves in a Boys vs Girls dance off. They also played Limbo, and to DJ Emily’s surprise, they also requested to play a term favourite Knights Mounts and Cavaliers. An absolute blast was had by all!

After recess, it was time for the grade 3’s and 4’s, and they didn’t lose any energy after their lunch break. They were just as crazy as the older grades and absolutely killed it in their Boys vs Girls dance off and their big game of Limbo. Amazing kids, always a joy.

And last, but definitely not least, were the little Preps in the afternoon. They’re always buzzing for their discos and never disappoint DJ Emily. They loved playing Madagascar and Musical Statues, and even managed to learn a new dance to 5, 6, 7, 8.

Overall, it was a crazy, amazing day and DJ Emily is always grateful to be welcome at Elanora State School.
